Many Americans have been convinced by the nightly news that their government is a benign institution,
that it only has their best interests in mind. But the newest rulings by the highest court in the United States
should disabuse innocent and ignorant Americans of these notions. The Supreme Court has given the police the
green light to arrest ANYONE who commits even the most minor offense. Even offenses that, after conviction,
one would not have to go to jail, are now arrestable offenses. In addition to this, the Supreme Court has
cast serious doubt on the future of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protected minorities from discrimination.
And Title IX, which made it required for schools to fund women's athletics equally with men's athletics, and
which opened the door for professional women's sports. If you aren't afraid, then you should be, because
the next time someone gets arrested in your community, it could be you...
In Oklahoma City the morning of April 19th, the anniversary of the bombing of the Oklahoma City
Federal Building, hundreds gathered at a memorial where the bombed out building used to stand. They solemnly
remembered their lost loved ones. But they casually forgot the real lessons that sunk home when an American
committed an act of war on the Federal Government. It's time to review the facts of this case, before
the media whitewashes another episode, and turns the mind of America to more pleasant things, by ignoring
the dark realities of the system of government in the United States that bred such an ill wind.
The deceased are still able to cause lively debate in St. Louis, where several have been found on
voter registration cards, and another was found to have filed a lawsuit that successfully resulted in the polls being
kept open later than usual. If you thought that voter fraud was an issue that was of minor importance, think again.
The only fact that has come out of the 2000 election, is that the electoral system in the United States has some
very serious problems... some of which may just be racist too. If you were shocked by the November 2000 election,
wait until you read about the after-life of voters in St. Louis...
So you thought that vote tampering only happened in Third World dictatorships... This expose
by the Los Angeles Times reveals that Florida is not the only state in the U.S. with an election crisis. This article offers an exhaustive examination
of a dozen states, from New York to Texas, and from Seattle to Indiana, the conclusion of which is that Florida is not the exception when it comes to
dubious election procedures, IT IS THE RULE. Anywhere from 100,000 to 2 million votes may not have been counted in the
General Election of 2000, so if it seems like you have never met any of the people who voted for things everyone you know
voted against, it may just be that those people who voted possibly don't exist at all, or were not entitled to vote, or they
may even have voted twice! If you think anyone who does not accept the outcome of the last election is a spoil-sport, you
may have cause to re-think that, when you read the facts...
It is ironic that Republicans in the 2000 Presidential Election made it their slogan that the Democrats
were trying to "steal" the election, especially since all the Democrats were asking for was that all those votes
that had been cast, be counted. The fact that those votes were not counted, and may never be counted, may have
a terrible effect on future elections, as Americans from coast to coast ask themselves, "Why vote? They won't count
my vote anyway..." All the current talk of bipartisanship is just for the cameras, so that both sides appear conciliatory,
but under the happy surface are bitter partisans about to go into battle. But worse yet has been the revelations that have come out of
the media to the effect that states across the country have fraudulent voting methods, something that was hidden from the average voter
until now. Most Americans had never heard of the Electoral College until the year 2000, and those that had knowledge of its existence
were convinced that it had to vote to confirm the popular vote. Now, America looks no better than the banana republics it has shaken its
finger at, where elections are riddled with fraud.
Now two prominent columnists have come up with direct statements of individuals in Florida who were turned away from polling places for such silly things as failure to possess a chauffer's license when one individual was ferrying his family members to the polling place. None of them were allowed to vote. And this was a result of threats of a county sheriff. Over 170,000 valid ballots in Florida were simply thrown out, at least half of them from African American precincts. If you aren't shocked by these eye-opening accounts, then you don't understand the importance of free and democratic elections, which we now know do not take place in the United States.
In this commentary by a Professor of history and public policy at Duke University, the real feelings of disillusionment of
many Americans is expressed, who were shocked to discover that their right to vote was not as "sacred" as the cronies of the
two major political parties often told them it was. In frank and honest terms, Professor Alex Keyssar expresses the sentiments of
millions of Americans which the mass media is busy trying to white-wash with patriotic slogans about how the country will pull together under
the new president, elected by a minority of American voters. The media and the pundits don't care who is elected, because they realize that
regardless of which political party comes to power, the same policies will continue which have resulted in turning the United States
into the biggest police-state in the world. Despite the pretense of being "liberals," the Democrats, during their eight years in the
White House, have presided over the incarceration of the largest percentage of their own nationals than any other country on earth, a
trend which started under the predecessor Republican presidents. And now a man who has executed more Americans than any other single
modern politician, has been elected to the presidency under a cloud of distrust that may never go away. Happy times are not here again, just
ask anyone who is not affiliated with either major political party, whose voice the media has deliberately allowed to get lost in the wilderness.
So you thought you elected the president of the United States by voting. If you are like 99% of the American people,
you probably never heard of the Electoral College until the General Election of November, 2000. Generally, only political junkies
knew about the obscure institution which, according to the U.S. Constitution of 1787, has the SOLE right to elect the president,
regardless of the popular vote. Previous presidents who were elected without the benefit of democratic process include Thomas Jefferson in
the election of 1800, which was decided by the House of Representatives after the Electoral College deadlocked. John Quincy Adams, who also
was elected by the House of Representatives, despite having received fewer votes than his opponent. (In fact, the only other father-son
team to have been elected to the presidency, besides Bush pere and Bush fils, were John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams,
so there is a certain irony in the fact that George W. Bush will copy this example, and enter the White House despite the fact that he
received 336,000 popular votes less than Al Gore.) Rutherford B. Hayes also was elected to the presidency in 1876, despite losing the popular vote; and
was forever afterward called "Ruther-fraud." And finally, Benjamin Harrison, who won the 1888 election by winning the Electoral College vote,
despite losing the support of a majority of Americans entitled to vote. From here on out, anytime an American president tries to lecture
the leader of a foreign country on their failure to implement a democratic process, the historical past of the United States will haunt him.
Modern pundits marvel at the fact that during the recent election scandals, there were no tanks in the streets.
They seem to have forgotten that under the thumb of the police-state republic, there are well over 700,000 police,
as well as a National Guard, and several million troops, all of whom could be called out at a moment's notice.
Americans are not stupid. They may not hold the Presidency in high esteem, but they do not desire to live in the
chaos of civil war. But commentators and pundits rarely give credit to the American people, and their values as a culture,
instead they attribute all the good things about America to its government. In one letter to the editor of the
Los Angeles Times, some ill-informed and uneducated member of the public stated, in his desperate attempt to
make sense of the struggle going on for the highest ceremonial office in the republic, that the "Founding Fathers
were geniuses, not Gods..." Of course, the Founding Fathers were not geniuses, and many of them would be
horrified at the modern spectacle of an electorate that includes women, black Americans, or Mexican Americans,
or Native Americans.
Pundits also will wax into fantasy, describing America as a country without a hereditary aristocracy, attributing much of the best the United States has to offer to such silly illusions. The fact that there IS a hereditary elite in the United States, that has existed since before the Revolution, is readily evident to anyone who has read beyond materials designed for an 8th grade student. How otherwise can one explain the advantages of being born a DuPont, or a Hearst, or a Chandler, or a Rockefeller, or any of the other "super-rich," or as should be said, "Mighty Rich," families, who dominate the political system of the republic? It should be understood, of course, that the term "mighty rich" refers not to the wealth itself, but to the fact that there is so much of it, that it confers upon its owners actual power over the lives of other people; and in every instance of that kind of private wealth, it is rarely ever made by an individual in one lifetime, but by a family, or dynasty, which accumulates it over several generations, which is governed primarily by the dynamics of hereditary inheritance. It should also be understood that there is nothing inherently wrong with inheritance. If there were no right to inherit the goods of one's ancestors, then this property becomes the property of the state, which has always been in conflict with the interests of private families, and when the state has generally become ascendant over the rights of families, the individuals who constitute those families suffer unduly, unfairly, unjustly, and without mercy. There has to be a balancing principle, and in antiquity that principle became known as Noblesse Oblige, or nobility obliges. Due to the after-effects of the American Revolution, when power was privatized, with the abolition of the nobility, there also came the abolition of a sense of obligation on the part of the wealthy, to give back to society.
In this article by Howard Zinn, the renowned author of The People's History of the United States, which every patriotic American should read simply to understand the reality of American history, instead of the fiction the media and the political system thrive on, he examines the myth of America as a classless society. He picks this myth apart by going back to the real events of American independence, and the Founding Fathers, who saddled the republic with the Electoral College precisely because they distrusted democracy, and the judgment of the average person. The Founders were very self-conscious members of America's elite, and they firmly believed in the correctness of a system of government that firmly entrenched the power of government in the hands of that elite. This article covers the class, race and gender conflicts that have divided America since independence. Americans have to eventually understand that in order to have a better future, we have to have a true understanding of the past, which means giving up the fantasies the institutions of the republic have filled our heads with.
You probably don't know about it, but in 1995 the Congress gave the timber industry a "holiday" from environmental
protection laws. During that "holiday" the timber industry cut down a National Forest that was full-grown at the time the
Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776! Today American natural resources are under a variety of attacks by industry,
using its influence over their puppets in Congress and state governments, to essentially gut all the environmental legislation
it took the American people decades to get enacted, largely as a result of such events as polluted lakes actually catching fire!
In the 1970s the timber industry virtually stripped whole mountain ranges of their ancient-growth forests, leaving them denuded
and dangerous, because when the rainy season came much of those denuded mountains became mud-slides due to the fact that there
was no root growth from trees and brush, which had previously kept the mountains from turning to mud, and sliding down and burying populated
areas.
Most adults today were not alive when the most significant environmental protests took place, so they are susceptible to the glib opposition to environmental legislation by industrial and commercial interests, who always suggest that jobs are more important than the environment. In the old days it was common sense not to soil your own nest; but today common sense has been turned on its head. Now a bill before Congress, sponsored by Senator Larry Craig (R-ID), called the Craig Bill, would make logging the main use of National Forests, in effect turning over the national wealth of the American people to a few select private interests. Privatization sounds fine when people think that they can become wealthy; but in fact, privatization of some activities that really are part of the responsibility of a legitimate government, suggest the ransacking of the national treasure so that special interests can become enriched at the expense of the nation. The Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund has been one of the most successful groups defending the natural heritage of the American people, and this article brings to light many of the dangerous initiatives commercial and industrial interests have tried to make law, outside of the normal legislative process. Remember, a rational environmental policy is a non-partisan national interest of all Americans, and should not be regarded as a partisan issue...
So you thought that the United States was the birthplace of democracy. That the idea that the people should have
a say in how their government is conducted, was invented in Philadelphia by the Founding Fathers, and perpetuated by the
regime in Washington, D.C. If you believe that, you probably have not read the U.S. Constitution of 1787. And you probably have
very limited knowledge about the Founding Fathers, or the fact that they were against democratic trends of all kinds (something that
has been widely documented). The voters of the United States do NOT elect the President; the electoral college elects the President.
And twice in U.S. history, the winners of the popular vote were not elected to office, because their opponents won election in the
electoral college. Additionally, there were two instances when the electoral college became deadlocked, and the election was thrown to
the Congress to decide. That's right, two presidents were actually voted by politicians in a smoke-filled room, during the most corrupt
era in U.S. politics. Of 40 presidents, 10% gained office without being elected by a democratic vote...
At the end of the hot war, the fighting and the battles of World War II, and the inauguration of the Cold War, the
war of the spies, America became a national security state. In fear of imaginary "bomber gaps," and later, "missile gaps," which
American leaders knew did not exist, American society was regimented with Loyalty Oaths and witch hunts for "enemies within." The notion
of enemies within refers to the idea of domestic enemies, which really had its genesis in its modern form during the Revolutionary period.
The Constitution of 1787 (aka, the United States Constitution), has a clause that purposefully and deliberately gives the Federal Government
the authority to keep secrets from the American people. In this insightful article by an investigative journalists who has had direct
and personal experience in dealing with the United States Government and its handling of state secrets, he reveals how the process of
classifying state documents as secret has led to abuses, to say nothing of the cover-ups of abuse.
The perfect scam is when you can get a federal agency to give its stamp of approval to the outright
cheating of the poor. The criminals, however, are not gangsters, but instead real estate agents, appraisers, lenders,
and their allies in the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). Due solely to the corruption of the republican system of
government, the money-lobby has made it legal for lenders to collude with appraisers and real estate agents to sell worthless
properties at vastly inflated prices to the poor, which bankrupts the poor, and forces the taxpayers to make good on the FHA-secured loans.
The poor people who get sold worthless properties wind up evicted and homeless, the worthless property gets "flipped" to another
poor person eligible for FHA financing, starting the whole process again. As hard evidence, 41 Realtors, lenders and appraisers
were indicted recently in California...
In what mainstream media is characterizing as a "melee," LAPD attacked a crowd
of people leaving a concert across the street from the Democratic National Convention, as
the President addressed the Convention. Demonstrators as well as innocent bystanders felt
the rage of police as rubber bullets, tear gas and beanbags rained down on them after
the police issued confusing orders. Some people said they heard no announcement before they
were ridden down by police horses and beaten by batons.
Have you ever felt like your boss was treating you like a slave? America has had a long history of slavery that
modern Americans have basically brushed under the carpet, never realizing that the way modern bosses relate to labor evolved from
the original economic model of slave labor. Americans are educated to believe that slavery ended in 1864, with the end of the Civil War; the historic reality
that an unbalanced relationship has always existed in America between the masters and servants, is not a widely
acknowledged fact. Some of the most elite "Old Money" in America was actually made through the sweat, blood and toil of slaves,
which is now becoming an embarrassment to this posh crowd as the truly sinister source of their status is coming to light.
Some of the biggest names in society and industry got their start during the era of the outright legalized institution of human enslavement
by the founding fathers, and now the descendants of those slaves are seeking reparations for the injustices that were visited upon their
ancestors at the hands of the social elite, with the assistance of the police power of the republic.
If you think the contest between Gore and Bush for the Presidency is like a circus side-show, you are
not alone. This article discusses politics in the future, in the post-Clinton era. The whole political
spectrum has undergone a "tectonic shift," so that now groups that are ideologically opposites, are fellow
travelers. The majority no longer votes, the political landscape is changing in ways no one expected,
and the future is beyond the power of pundits operating within the limits of conventional wisdom
to fathom.
Unprecedented numbers of police are being investigated and imprisoned for violating the public trust by
taking bribes from drug dealers, setting up innocent people for crimes they did not commit, giving false and
perjured testimony to cover up unjustified police shootings (some of which have resulted in deaths), across the United
States. The police behave like an independent power in every city and county, highlighting the reality that
the United States is a bona fide police state. In other words, a state that is literally dominated by the
law enforcement institutions. This means that instead of protecting and serving the public, the police dictate
how the state shall be run; this is often done by a form of lobbying, whereby law enforcement is not merely a
functionary carrying out legislation, but part of the political process manipulating public opinion to expand the
discretion of police at the expense of the public interest. The cases enumerated in this article illustrate the
mindset of police, that they are above the law. A mindset that was originated by the Founding Fathers, when they
sat down to "pick and choose" what laws they would obey, when they established the republic, which had no constitutional
precedents aside from the dictatorial Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell. What most Americans do not realize is that "dictatorship"
was invented by the republic of Rome, and that republics by nature encourage thuggery.
In February, 2000, it was estimated that America's prison and jail population reached the 2 million mark, two-thirds
of the inmates having been imprisoned on drug-related charges. Now, Newsweek magazine has published an exclusive report
detailing the influence of major defense contractors in fueling the ill-conceived "War on Drugs." Lockheed Martin, Occidental Petroleum,
Textron, and United Technologies Corp. have all been caught red-handed. Although all deny any influence-peddling, the millions of
dollars they donated just before important legislation came up for a vote in Congress, speaks for itself.
If you're like the majority of people in America, you probably were brought up believing that
Abraham Lincoln was virtually an angel who walked with men. What you don't know is that he was a
virulent racist, who opposed all of the measures that would have enfranchised the African Americans in his own
State of Illinois, and he was a vocal proponent of the idea of deporting all the African Americans. This article
explores the real Abraham Lincoln, so if you are not prepared for the truth, this article will shock you!
In a stunning example of the inability of the educational establishment to comprehend the implications of their
actions, history has now been turned into a sport where kids compete for prizes for preparing such fascinating presentations as "The Invention
of Bubblegum." The winners gloat and the losers burst into tears, and then parents wonder why their kids have hostility building up
inside them, and where its source is. This is not to suggest that there should not be schools providing educations to the young, but
someday Americans have to examine closely WHAT is being taught to their kids in school, and perhaps demand reforms that might actually
prepare their children for real life.
In the pre-dawn morning hours of the day before Easter Sunday, federal and local police
invaded the home where Cuban refugee Elian Gonzalez was staying with relatives, and took the child away at the point of a gun.
Ironically, the same Government that claims to want to stop gun violence, engaged in a stunning act of violence employing firearms,
without the least bit of concern about the example this sets for average Americans. Characterized as "storm-troopers" carrying out
"Gestapo tactics," the reaction to the police invasion was a day marked by demonstrations and about 300 arrests. In the wake of anti-WTO riots in Seattle and
Washington, D.C., it might appear that the republic does not in fact represent the American people...
As the police abuse scandal in Los Angeles heats up, it turns out that failure has many fathers, as everyone
starts pointing fingers at everyone else. The LAPD chief Parks called on the DA Gil Garcetti to dismiss cases that have
been tainted by police misconduct "en masse," while the public defender accused the DA of moving too slow to provide information
for the public defender to review tainted cases. The LAPD has been caught red-handed framing innocent people, killing unarmed people,
and behaving generally as unruly as the street gangs they are supposed to be protecting the community from.
The mayor and the chief of police insist that the corruption is restricted to the Ramparts Station, but evidence mounts every day
that there is a real problem with police abuse throughout Los Angeles County.
As of February 15th, 2000, the United States will have approximately 2,000,000 of its own citizens
behind bars, a higher rate, per capita, than any other country in the world. While U.S. officials coerce
foreign governments to be increasingly democratic, the U.S. has become one of the least democratic countries in the world.
In the recent past, it was the Soviet Union that had the dubious honor of having the highest incarceration rate in
the world...
In the Federal republic's constant effort to elevate its leaders into demigods,
the observances of George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays were combined into
the all-encompassing tribute to the presidency we know as Presidents' Day. Most Americans
think that the Presidency is the culmination of a long process of evolution, inferring that it is the
best form of leadership known to humanity. The fact that the Presidency was modeled after the dictatorship
of Oliver Cromwell -- because the Puritan Commonwealth was the only republican non-royalist precedent in
Anglo-American constitutional history -- is largely unknown in the United States. This Presidents' Day we can
ruminate over the fact that in February, 2000, the republic held 2,000,000 American nationals in prisons and jails, more per capita
than any other country in the civilized world...
Most Americans take the word of their government as gospel. When officials say that we are the victim
of foreign terrorists, average Americans believe them. But those in the know realize that the United States Government
has been sowing violent seeds with its foreign policy for decades, and like the saying goes, when you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind.
While publicly decrying the excesses of extremist Muslim organizations, the United States Government was also giving them arms. Then when the
cause for the illicit weapons trade collapsed when the Soviet Union imploded, these extremist Muslim outfits were able to turn their
attention away from their wars with Russia, to conflicts with the "Great Satan," the United States Government. This article goes into
great detail about how the U.S. armed the terrorists, who ultimately used those arms, and the training they received from U.S. agents,
on the World Trade Center in New York City.
Just as the world was discovering the horrors of the Nazi regime in Germany, the United States
Government was conducting medical experiments on Americans, WITHOUT their consent. Scientists
wanted to discover a "safe" level of exposure for human beings, to plutonium. Pregnant women, boys,
prison inmates, and soldiers were all exposed to radiation, so that scientists could ascertain the "tolerance dose."
In the end, they were unable to find this tolerance dose, but not before thousands of Americans were injected with
plutonium...
As the police corruption scandal widens in Los Angeles, California, the number of convictions
the police were instrumental in securing with tainted evidence continues to climb. As of the writing of this
article up to 3,000 cases were under suspicion. Unjustly imprisoned individuals have already been released, and in
the face of embarrassing new facts that seep out every day, the chief of police of the LAPD -- the largest police force in the United States --
has asked for the release of prisoners whose imprisonment may be illegal, en masse (watch for that article in the near future).
Anyone who thinks that the 2 million Americans in prison and jail are there as a result of committing crimes, instead of a ruthless
and out-of-control law enforcement and justice system bureaucracy, better think again! The police state is alive and well, half
a century after the defeat of Nazi Germany, when most people thought fascism had exhausted its welcome...
On December 27th, 1999, John Babin passed away, ending an era. John Babin's remarkable
accomplishments ranged from building one of the first plants to manufacture penicillin, to
aiding the late prime minister of the Congo, Patrice Lumumba, in his struggle to preserve the
independence of the newly independent Congolese nation. Godfather to the regent of the United States,
John Babin played a pivotal role in the life of the young man who is changing the face of politics in America.
The royal family of the United States is in a state of mourning, which they will observe for one year.
This final article on this remarkable man attempts to capsulate a life that characterized the "Can Do"
strength common to all great men of the 20th century...
The White House Drug-Control Policy Office, which has $1 billion to allocate over five years to those networks who cooperate
with it for the purpose of influencing public opinion against illegal drugs, is under fire for paying off the television networks
for incorporating anti-drug messages into their mainstream programming. This anti-drug juggernaut exists in stark contrast to those
people and organizations across America who recognize that the drug prohibition is a failure, who must operate on a shoestring.
There is nothing like being lectured to by an actor at public expense about the evils of drug use, especially if you're a drug
addict desperately looking for treatment in a republic that funds anti-drug advertisement campaigns, but no drug treatment centers...
Did you spend $300 for a $100 bottle of champagne? Did you fly off to an island in the remote Pacific Ocean, to be one of the first
to witness the "dawning of the New Millennium..." ? Did you believe we entered the new millennium because the New Years' Eve coverage of
the major news networks all called their shows "Millennium Specials" ? If you did, you've been HAD! Read this short article, and find out
why...
Didn't you suspect something was wrong when retired public-school teachers were driving Jaguars and Porsches, while
all the pundits would make weepy pleas to pay teachers higher salaries? Teachers have been compared to athletes and heroes,
but what they have failed to do in thousands of cases is teach their little helpless wards to read, and then to conceal their
own failures they consigned the tykes they failed, to "special ed" classes, which begins lifetimes of stigma for these individuals
as "learning disabled." It's not a coincidence that there has been an increase in social violence that coincides with the increase
of the levels of general illiteracy. But don't blame the schools, or the school districts, or the school administrators, or the
teachers' unions, because the educational establishment is the most powerful vested interest in the United States, and it won't tolerate
criticism... even if that criticism is justified.
A list has surfaced that shows that approximately 255 companies, that still do business, exploited slave labor
during the Nazi era. Among these are Ford Germany, Shell Oil, Volkswagen, the Deutsche Bank, Agfa, and the list goes on,
reading like a who's who of German industry. Most of these corporations had hoped that the episodes when they used
slave labor would be forgotten and buried among the nightmares of World War II. But the slave laborers, themselves,
had no intention of letting their violation go unpunished. There may be as many as 2.3 million people who were
among the 12 million the Nazis enslaved, who are still alive, and entitled to compensation. There is no statutory limitation
on crimes against humanity. But it should give pause to those who think that corporate capitalism is the same as free enterprise...
The Native Americans have been the victims of the Federal Government so many times over
the centuries that it has become a stereotype. The way the Native Americans have been treated by
the U.S. Government casts shame upon every American. The very idea of "ethnic cleansing" was invented
in the New World, where the natives were just pushed aside, while quiet social and political forces worked
towards their total elimination. In the 1830s the Federal Government tried to weaken their traditional
tribal institutions by giving them money individually. But instead of actually GIVING them any money, the U.S. Government
set up "trust funds," which now they have destroyed the records of, when it was disclosed that the Federal Government
has been depositing $350 million A YEAR into these trust funds, while the beneficiaries -- the Native Americans -- received nothing!
This article is about the judge's disconcertment when it was finally disclosed that the Federal Government had destroyed vital
evidence in a class-action lawsuit brought by the Native Americans, to discover where their money is...
Due to a cop-gone-bad turning informant to get a lighter sentence for stealing cocaine out of the evidence room of the LAPD,
investigators have become stunned at the level of malfeasance going on. Over 12 police have been relieved of duty, and 11 convictions
have been overturned, and four prisoners have been released after police admitted to fabricating evidence against them to frame them.
Now another policeman has been caught red-handed framing a suspect who went to prison, and the LAPD is anxiety ridden that hundreds of
arrests may be thrown out in light of the new revelations that implicate an ever larger group of policemen. These incidents only
prove how out-of-control the republic is, as the police frame people and put them in prison, in pursuit of its own political agenda...
Kids are being expelled for wearing trench coats, and for stupid pranks, and some of them are not only
being expelled, but their being jailed too. In the hysteria following the violence that has erupted in schools
throughout America, the school administrators have chosen to crackdown on the kids, instead of examining their own
failings. Troubled children are now put under even more pressure than before, meaning that we have not seen the end
of the epidemic of school violence, because the schools are still not facing up to the root causes of the violence.
This article examines some of the extremes that have taken place, and the fact that adults are starting to get up
in arms against the schools, in defense of their children...
If you've just been watching TV, and not reading the papers, you will be shocked to find out that the little "disturbance"
in Seattle, Washington, over the trade summit of the WTO erupted into a major riot. Downtown Seattle was paralyzed, and the opening
of the Conference was stopped. 30,000 people protested the WTO, which the U.S. Government is trying to cram down American throats.
Ports in Tacoma, Seattle, Oakland, Long Beach and Los Angeles were brought to a standstill. Protesters simultaneously paralyzed downtown London,
England, in just a small portend of the future dissent the WTO is arousing. Globalization means handing over the earth's resources
to multinational corporations, that operate under their own rules... which don't recognize such quaint notions as human rights.
Dr. Mengele is back, and he's running the Los Angeles Mental Health Department. A ban had been imposed on
human drug testing on the mentally ill, after a man died. But now the Department has unilaterally lifted the ban,
even though it is not clear if it requires the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to do it legally. The Mental Health Departments
of most counties have a reputation for heavy-handedness, because they are dealing largely with wards of the state, which they have
direct control over. And in a final demonstation of their arrogance, they are exploiting that control over people who are incompetent,
to use them in lucrative drug tests, the financial benefit of which the unfortunate testee will not share. This is the face of
the police state republic...
In 1990 the State of California passed a "midnight bill," which slipped by public scrutiny,
but which included a tax called a "smog impact fee," which the legislators were told by their own
legal counsel was unconstitutional and illegal. Did that stop them? Of course not, and today the
State of California has collected $455 MILLION, and has announced that it will only refund money to those
who jump through bureaucratic hoops. Assemblyman Tom McClintock lays out the nightmare the bureaucracy
of California has cooked up for its citizens, in this revealing and important article...
If you don't live in southern California, you may not have heard about the biggest scandal to involve LAPD
officers in the history of the department. At this point, one ex-LAPD officer has admitted to stealing 8 lbs.
of cocaine from the department's evidence room, to sell on the street; and another ex-LAPD has been caught
robbing banks. In the process, the drug dealer-LAPD officer also admitted to framing an innocent man, after
shooting and paralyzing him, which resulted in the youth's being sent to prison. As the probe widened,
LAPD Chief Parks had to relieve twelve officers of duty, and indicated that the likelihood is high
that more officers may also become "ensnared" in the scandal. Of course, just because the police got
caught in Los Angeles, doesn't mean that the same practices aren't going down in your town too...
In late August evidence surfaced that confirmed early allegations that the FBI used incendiary bombs when it attacked
the compound of the Davidians in Waco, Texas, on 19 April, 1993. The media brushed aside the Congressional hearings that brought out
information that the munitions used on that fateful day were lethal; the Los Angeles Times completely dismissed the hearings, saying that
they would only re-hash well-known facts. The truth, that the Federal Government used deadly, military-style canisters was largely unknown
as a result, leaving individuals who insisted that a military assault had taken place, to appear as crazy nut-cases. This article
gives hard proof that the bureaucracy of the republic is out of control...
Americans are brought up from childhood believing that it is just a "matter of time" before the so-called
"American Way," shall be the way of the whole world. Part of this ideology is a sincere belief that republics are naturally progressive,
and any form of government that fails to follow the U.S. model, is by definition backwards. This becomes a factor every time the
Federal Government makes war on a foreign country, and the State Department uses rhetoric that portrays the conflict as a defense of
"democratic values." This article examines the history of the U.S. as it really happened, in light of the expeditions the U.S. military has
been ordered to engage in...
On July 16th, 1999, John F. Kennedy, Jr., the Great White Hope for the revival of Camelot, was killed in a plane crash.
Over the course of the next 48 hours a news black-out went into effect, as the Coast Guard scoured hundreds of square miles
of ocean, pre-empting everything else. Hard-bitten newsmen choked back the tears, as they described their best memories of
the young Kennedy, which happened to take place when he was three years old. The whole weekend wound up being an opportunity
to show every inch of footage shot of the Kennedy Administration, with nostalgia and sentimental reminiscences replacing hard
news. And yet again, the notion of a Kennedy curse was dredged up, to explain away the innate tendencies of Kennedys to
take dangerous and audacious risks...
People who have worked in homeless shelters for the last decade knew that the fastest growing segment of the homeless
population was women and children. But institutional America didn't get any hard evidence of this truth until the Better Homes Fund
released a report last June, entitled "Homeless Children: America's New Outcasts." During the 1980's and the early 1990's, it was
fashionable for the media to run regular stories about the homeless crisis, but after a Democrat won the White House, these articles and
news reports disappeared. In France, it was the "people without pants" who started the French Revolution, and in modern America
it will probably be the people without homes who may start upheavals in the future, which will change the U.S. in ways none of us
can imagine. It's much worse than you are being told...
In recent months politicians have been beaming due to economic projections that appear
that the Federal Government will have a massive budget surplus of over $1 trillion dollars. The politicians are
falling all over each other proposing different ways to spend the money, even though the "surplus" is based purely
on hypothetical economic figures that almost everyone agrees are inaccurate. Most people recognized that there
had to be something wrong with the accounting of the Federal Government, when not so long ago the same bureaucracy
was running historic annual budget deficits, that is now claiming "surpluses." It doesn't take a CPA to recognize
a con job, especially when the politicians are talking about spending money they don't even have...
Bankruptcy reform has been the cry of Big Business for years, since it is the only protection ordinary people
have against voracious lenders, who actively assist inexperienced borrowers bury themselves in debt. Dressed up in the rhetoric of
"free market" economics, the current legislation pending in Congress represents the very worst corruption the republic imposes on
the people of the United States. Every American should protest against this legislation loud and clear, so that the only protection
ordinary people have is not whittled away by the power and money of bankers and speculators. If Americans don't act now, they may wake up
someday soon, with a debtors' prison in their future.
In a series of decisions that stunned the legal community, the Supreme Court has reversed a century of legal
precedents by reviving the antique notion of "states' rights." First called "nullification," when Jefferson and Madison
invented it to oppose the Alien and Sedition Acts, each later argued forcefully against the right of states to nullify federal
legislation when each man, in turn, became president of the United States. The same conflicting arguments led to the Civil War,
which was always fought to preserve the supremacy of the Federal Government, the issue of emancipating the slaves only becoming an issue
late in the war, when the North was in fear of losing. (General Fremont, who emancipated the slaves in Missouri before Lincoln issued his
famous proclamation, was actually fired for doing so, in an episode of the War that revisionists focus little attention upon).
Now, the same corpse has been resurrected by a moribund republic, and we, the people of the United States will be the ultimate victims, as
the bureaucracies set up by the Founding Fathers now go back to battling each other, at the expense of the public interest...
You know that there is a class system in the United States. Your parents talked about it; the press hints that
it still has influence; and when special TV shows about the rich and famous air, all talk about the "classless" society of the
U.S. is unabashedly abandoned, in favor of a virtually boastful tone, regaling the viewer with stories about America's "elite."
The real mechanics of this corrupt system of government, however, exists in the Congress, where half of the Senators are millionaires,
and the majority of the Congressmen are lawyers. Last week, one of the biggest fundraisers ever held for a presidential candidate, was
filled to the brim with attorneys and lobbyists, at $1000 per plate. Where were the people?
The American people are left on the outside, while the insiders steal from the whole nation.
Crime statistics are down, but police agencies still want more money. Some say it is because the
bureaucracy is on automatic pilot. Even though the people are increasingly law-abiding, the police
want to reward us with stepped-up law enforcement! Law enforcement is now a gigantic vested interest,
and public safety is no longer its highest priority. This article examines the efforts of the largest law enforcement agency
in the country, with a $1 billion budget, to get a budget increase.
After every incident in which students commit violence, the politicos see it as an opportunity to push ahead their agendas, like the ghouls that they are.
Yet despite numerous new laws, the incidents take place with frightening regularity, and for all ostensive purposes, they are outside of the control of the institutions to prevent;
OR ARE THEY? The police in Colorado KNEW about the two youths who went on a killing spree; and teachers at the school, KNEW about their
violent ideas. While pundits from coast to coast tried to raise a lynch mob to get at the parents, few examined the real causes
underlying youth violence.
It has been discovered that gangs exist inside the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Now when deputies are defendants in
civil rights lawsuits, they are asked to show the court their tattoos, that signify membership in groups like the Vikings.
"The groups - with macho monikers like the Pirates, Vikings, Rattlesnakes and Cavemen - have long been a subculture in the country's largest Sheriff's Department and, in some cases, an inside track to acceptance in the ranks."
As America bombs Yugoslavia, and portrays the issue in humanitarian terms, many Americans happily forget
that the United States Government has a bad track record when it comes to humanitarian causes. The Federal Government
was the original expansionist force in the modern world, setting aside morality at its leisure. This article
addresses the moral amnesia American foreign policy experts suffer from, as they involve America in a second war-front,
even as a low-intensity war with Iraq accelorates. No one wants to see genocide in the Balkans, but there is too much
the public doesn't know about this conflict to make prudent decisions.
Once a year all the millionaire-entertainers in Hollywood throw a gala affair, where they celebrate themselves.
This year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award to Elia Kazan, over the protests
of his victims, who he turned over to the Federal Government. Of course, the Establishment of Hollywood was responsible for
the blacklist in the first place, so it should not be surprising that the Establishment has decided to over-ride any popular concerns
about decency, to award Kazan an honorary Oscar. Think of it as a reward for snitching.
In California, a historic number of cities have cancelled their elections, "due to a lack of public interest."
When elections are cancelled, "incumbents win automatically." It is ironic that in a nation that is so proud of
its democratic process, that the people are allowing the political system of the republic to literally suspend
popular representation.
You've probably heard all about the Federal Government's "budget surpluses," what you did not hear
about was that these surpluses came at the expense of helpless welfare recipients, who were dumped on the
street, and immediately turned into part of the homeless community that lives, invisibly, among us. Welfare
reform is a failure, and the real effects will not be felt for several years, after the current architects
of reform are long gone. In the meantime, those mean streets have just gotten meaner, due entirely to the
actions of your representatives in the government.
Last May an inmate was murdered by guards, and the prison guard who was
the highest-ranking supervisor to respond to the shootingy, took a step that few officers have
taken in the Department of Corrections, she reported it. Newton then suffered
at the hands of her fellow officers for daring to break THE CODE OF SILENCE.
In 2001, Australia will hold a referendum on its future. Most Americans don't realize that Australia, like Canada, is a kingdom.
Elizabeth Windsor -- the Queen of Great Britain -- is also the Queen of Australia. (She is also the Queen of Canada). The
referendum will decide whether or not the Australian monarchy shall be abolished, in favor of a republic. This article addresses
the questionable motives of those Australian politicians who are trying to, in effect, carry off a coup. The entire Australian
nation is in an uproar, as the influence of republican politics starts to be felt in the country Down Under. The republic debate
is polarizing Australia in much the same way the impeachment trial of Supreme Leader Bill Clinton paralyzed the United States.
As the trial of the century unfolds in the Senate Chambers,
Americans don't know how to view it. The Supreme Leader is on trial, and for people trained from
diapers to worship the Presidency, it has been almost traumatizing to see their Leader put on trial.
But the real damage is not the short-term damage to Bill Clinton -- who most believe is the victim of
his own hubris -- but the long-term damage to the institutions of the republic. With the chief executive
on trial, in the end the institution he runs is also on trial, THE REPUBLIC ITSELF!
As the president goes on trial in the Senate, the prestige of the institution of the presidency
is diminished, no matter how many attorneys and bureaucrats whine to the contrary. The stain on the presidency
is as real as the stains on Ms. Lewinsky's blue dress. But Bill Clinton's lack of discretion has not only tarnished
the Executive, it has dragged down the Congress and the Supreme Court as well, through impeachment hearings,
relentless Supreme Court hearings on privilege questions raised by the White House to delay the investigation,
to the current trial, which involves the Senate in determining whether Bill Clinton's sordid affair has
undermined the office of the president. Just the bulk of time the nation has spent on this revolting scandal
is proof all by itself that the most powerful office on the Earth, is in decline.
The police officials of Chandler, Arizona, and the Border Patrol, have found themselves mired in a scandal
because of a gung-ho "round-up" of alleged illegal aliens, but which illegally violated the constitutional rights
of American citizens, because they were of Mexican descent. The crackdown has since become a point of embarrassment
for the police, whose only criteria, it is asserted, was that they detained anyone who "appeared Mexican."
Now everyone is under investigation, civil rights lawsuits have been filed, and no one wants to be associated
with a police sweep that was clearly illegal, and an abuse of the public.
The California penal system has been rocked by scandals during the past year, from guards setting inmates up
to be raped, beaten and murdered. The guards try to use "controlled violence" to run the prisons with pure terrorism, and
then when illegal excesses leak out, the guards close ranks through their powerful union. Of course the use of violence by
authority demeans it when it is not legally applied. Abuse by guards is illegal: it is not ordered by judges, and it is not condoned
by law. And when abused individuals are released into the general community, especially if they are illiterate, they are more dangerous
as a result of this abuse. Ultimately, the majority of the violence on the street can be traced directly to the "law of the jungle"
that the majority of street people learn in prison, at the hands of sadistic guards. But don't expect the police-state republic to
reform the prisons, because the prison guards' union is too strong...
Well, the partisan politics of the republic has resulted in open and total warfare between the Democrats and the Republicans.
And few recognize how the politicians who have been conducting the impeachment are actually MAKING THE WHOLE THING UP as they go along.
Of course, the Founding Fathers would probably not think that having an extra-marital affair might constitute grounds for impeachment --
after all many of them had illegitimate children with their slaves -- but no one can say that they did not anticipate the extremist and
strident partisanship that has marked the impeachment procedure. Aren't you the slightest bit ashamed and embarrassed by the
low caliber of leaders we now have? The mistake is to assume that the Founding Fathers were any better. This article approaches
the impeachment in a non-partisan basis, attempting to dignify the national interest, which is all but lost in the struggles
of the two major parties of the republic.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service is now holding prisoners for "indeterminate" sentences, which is without
any set time for release. The INS is your worst nightmare, if you happen to be a first generation Mexican American. There are
countless stories about American nationals of Mexican descent, finding themselves far away from home in Tijuana, compliments of the
INS. The INS, like the FBI, the DEA, and the IRS, is a paramilitary organization ready to cross the line, to use any amount force necessary
to secure the power of the republic. Now, the prisoner population of the INS is the fastest growing segment of incarcerated people in
the United States. If you ever wondered where all your tax money goes, IT GOES TO PARAMILITARY GROUPS LIKE THE INS...
Have you ever noticed that the media loves to lavish time and attention on the "comfy" lives of prison inmates,
instead of the violation of their human rights? Americans have been convinced to believe that the justice system of the republic is
fair and impartial, so they cannot imagine that many of the people in jail and prison were actually framed, by police no less! Of course,
this does not mean that all prisoners are innocent, but even the late L.A. County Sheriff, Sherman Block, felt that inmates were incarcerated
AS punishment, not FOR punishment. The majority of inmates actually LEARN from the dreadful experience of incarceration, and change their lives.
It is the minority that proceed into a life of crime, but when the guards refuse to function professionally, by abusing inmates, the odds
go up that a larger number of criminals will get worse than would otherwise be expected. Last October five prison guards from the
scandal-plagued Corcoran State Prison in California, were indicted for organizing the rape of inmates. Yet for every abuse that
is exposed, there may be as many as 5 undisclosed cases, throughout the prison system in the United States...
Even though the American public has repeatedly showed its contempt for the U.S. Govt's "War on Drugs," the
Congress and the President are planning to spend BILLIONS more on this Lost Cause. This article is about the
conflicts among the Drug Warriors, divided by political party, as to how the War on Americans who use Drugs shall
be carried out. These are the fellows who built prisons instead of homeless shelters, who hired 100,000 police,
even though school children cannot read or write. And now they are about to spend several billion more on
the reign of terror the press calls THE DRUG WAR...
After the pure and intense evil of the Holocaust, is there any way to compensate the victims?
More importantly, is there really a way to guarantee that the German people do not still harbor Nazi sympathies?
Last September, survivors of the Nazi Holocaust filed a class-action suit in U.S. courts, demanding compensation for their labor as
slaves for some of the biggest industrial corporations in Europe. A year earlier, the Swiss banks were caught red-handed trying to
steal the assets of Jewish account holders, when a security guard discovered a bounty of documents the banks were about to shred. Lauded as a
hero, the security guard was eventually hounded out of Switzerland, as a Jewish spy! The slavemasters have never wanted to be
confronted with the claims of their slaves, but they may have no choice now (which should give more than a few Americans chills, whose fortunes they inherited from
ancestors, who had no qualms about exploiting an enslaved labor force).
